The 6th International Culture Festival of ECUST was successfully held on November 10. Under the theme “Hello, World @ECUST”, the event attracted over 1,000 participants, including students, faculty, and local community members, for a vibrant cultural exchange.
Shen Haitao, Vice President of the University Council of ECUST, and H.E. Muhannad Alnaqbi, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in Shanghai, attended and delivered speeches.
Shen Haitao highlighted the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance its internationalization strategy. ECUST has established stable partnerships with more than 170 universities and research institutions worldwide and built a supportive environment for international students, leading to a steady growth in their numbers. He encouraged both Chinese and international students to act as cultural ambassadors and bridges of friendship, contributing to a community with a shared future for mankind.

H.E. Muhannad Alnaqbi, as a special guest, noted the strong cultural and people - to - people ties between China and the UAE. He mentioned that 37 Emirati students are currently studying at ECUST, making it the top Chinese university hosting the largest number of students from the UAE. This reflects not only the solid educational collaboration but also the friendly bilateral relations embodied through youth exchanges.

The Ayala traditional dance team from the UAE, who were in China for the 8th China International Import Expo, also made a special visit to ECUST. Their distinctive performance became a standout part of the festival.

The festival’s cultural performances featured a variety of acts and drew warm applause from the audience.

A key segment of the festival was the country booths representing 22 nations. Students presented unique aspects of their cultures through traditional foods, clothing, musical instruments, and handicrafts, offering attendees a global tour without leaving the campus.
