As part of the JMD Global Competence Course (GCC), ECUST College of International Education (CIE) recently organized a corporate visit to Huawei Lianqiuhu R&D Center for 30 international students. The event was part of the “Enterprise Connection and Career Development” module under the second classroom initiative, encouraging student participation in practical learning activities.

Upon arrival, students was guided by on-site staff and viewed miniature architectural models illustrating the overall layout, architectural features and eco-design concepts of the R&D center. Along the route, the staff also introduced the park’s development history, architectural planning and industrial positioning. 

In a relaxed visiting atmosphere, students got a firsthand feel of the scale and charm of this modern research base, while gaining in-depth insight into Huawei’s development trajectory and innovative corporate culture.

During the thematic sharing session, Mr. Gong Shuhua, General Manager of the Whole House Intelligent Key Account at Shanghai Terminal Business Department of Huawei Terminal Co., Ltd., and an appointed ECUST International Student Industry Mentor, delivered a English presentation rich in information. He introduced Huawei’s smart home product lineup, brand development statistics, and the ecological layout of HarmonyOS, offering students a comprehensive overview of Huawei’s innovative achievements in the smart home sector.

Following the sharing session, students engaged in lively interactive exchanges, raising thoughtful questions regarding Huawei’s global product strategy, overseas market layout, and international student recruitment and career prospects. The event featured a vibrant atmosphere, broadening participants’ global vision and deepening their understanding of the international development approach of China’s leading technology enterprises.

This immersive visit allowed international students to witness Huawei’s innovation prowess and global vision up close, further enriching their understanding of China’s technology industry.

Moving forward, ECUST CIE will continue to strengthen partnerships with high-quality enterprises. By building diverse practical education platforms, the college strives to integrate academic learning with real-world experience, and nurture interdisciplinary talents with global competence.
