From June 20 to July 1, the College of International Education at ECUST hosted the “CSCA” Summer Camp, welcoming nine participants, including eight students and one group leader, from Xin Zhong School in Surabaya, Indonesia. This 12-day journey was designed to offer an immersive blend of academic growth and cultural discovery.

The camp kicked off with a warm opening ceremony and a milestone achievement: signing a cooperation agreement to establish Xin Zhong School as an international student source base. This partnership aims to deepen educational exchanges and open new pathways for future students.
Academically, participants dived into foundation courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and Chinese. Guided by professional faculty, they actively engaged in classroom discussions, sharpening both their academic knowledge and language skills.

Beyond the classroom, the camp brought Chinese culture to life. Students learned traditional dragon and lion dance techniques and got hands-on in an osmanthus cake-making workshop, tasting the rich flavors of Chinese culinary heritage.
The adventure extended to Shanghai’s vibrant streets. Exploring landmarks like the Bund, Yu Garden, and Nanjing East Road, students experienced the city’s unique blend of historical charm and modern energy. A visit to the Lenovo Future Center offered a thrilling glimpse into cutting-edge AI and smart technologies, showcasing China’s innovation landscape.

At the closing ceremony, participants reflected on their transformative experience. They praised the camp for seamlessly integrating academic learning, cultural immersion, and social practice. Many noted that their time at ECUST not only boosted their Chinese proficiency and professional knowledge but also allowed them to personally feel the openness and vitality of Shanghai.

The “CSCA” Summer Camp successfully provided Indonesian students with a comprehensive platform to understand Chinese education and contemporary development. As they returned home, they carried with them unforgettable memories, new friendships, and a deeper appreciation for cross-cultural connections. This program truly embodied ECUST’s commitment to fostering global understanding through education, leaving participants inspired and eager for future exchanges.
