Recently, a delegation led by Mr. Saif Surour Omair AlMashghouni, Vice Chairman of ADIA's Talent and Development Committee and Deputy Director of the Private Equity Investment Department at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) of the UAE, visited our university.
Established in 1976, ADIA is one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds. The visit aimed to explore the university’s disciplinary strengths and distinctive educational features, and to discuss potential collaboration on selecting Emirati students for undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD, and short-term exchange programs.

The delegation was warmly received by Prof. Zhu Weihong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Vice President of ECUST. Mr. Li Xiaopeng, Dean of the College of International Education; Ms. Tian Ye, Vice Dean of the College of International Education; Prof. Lu Jingyi from the School of Information Science and Engineering; and Ms. Shi Xiaoman, Project Manager of the College of International Education, also attended the meeting.

Vice President Prof. Zhu Weihong extended a welcome to Mr. Saif Surour Omair AlMashghouni and his delegation, highlighting the university’s strengths in fields such as chemical engineering, green energy, and information science. He emphasized that ECUST regards the Middle East as a strategic partner and has established solid cooperative relationships with governments, world-leading enterprises, and research institutions in Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE. He expressed the university’s eagerness to collaborate with ADIA to jointly build high-level platforms for scientific research and international talent cultivation.

The talks involved in-depth discussions on talent cultivation collaboration. During their visit, the ADIA delegation also toured the university’s Nobel Prize Scientist Joint Research Center and watched a demonstration of humanoid robots.
