At Fengxian Campus, May 20, ECUST commended its top students at the 2025 Role Model Awards Ceremony. University leaders including President of University Council Jiang Chuanhai and Deputy Party Secretary Shen Haitao attended the event.

The ceremony honored students demonstrating excellence in academic achievement, innovative research and professional practice, among which twenty international students received the Outstanding International Student Scholarship. Representatives of scholarship winners from all level of degree studies were awarded by Li Xiaopeng, Dean of College of International Education.

Twelve domestic and international students were commended as ECUST Role Models for their exemplary character and leadership. Luca Benaglia from Italy, an undergraduate majored in International Economics and Trade, was selected as one of the role models for his intercultural promotion progress. As a student ambassador, Benaglia has produced over 100 campus-and-culture related posts for international audiences, enhancing cross-cultural engagement and attracting prospective students through his authentic narrative about life at ECUST.

The ceremony reached the highlight with a symbolic “Lighting the Torch” ritual, where Benaglia and fellow honorees turned on the Role Model Torch, embodying ECUST students’ enduring commitment to excellent performance and bright future.
