On April 26, Timur Gafurov, a student from ECUST’s School of Chemical Engineering, secured an impressive second-place finish in the 7km group of the 2025 Yipao Forest Trail Race.
The Yipao Forest Trail Half Marathon, known as Shanghai’s only urban light trail running event, has been held annually for ten years. This year’s race took place at Shanghai’s Gongqing Forest Park as part of the 3rd Yangtze River Delta Youth Forest Sports Carnival, attracting runners from various regions and countries.
Timur, who trained under the guidance of fellow ECUST student Anna Kuzmina from the School of Business, demonstrated remarkable athletic skill and determination throughout the race.
The event, themed “Spring,” combined sports, family activities, and cultural experiences. ECUST proudly celebrates Timur’s achievement, reflecting the university’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded talents in academics, athletics, and cross-cultural engagement.
