On April 16, an ECUST delegation led by Li Xiaopeng, Dean of the College of International Education, attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the China-Saudi International Cooperation Industrial Park in Changshu, China. Organized by Suzhou Land Group, this event marked a key milestone in bilateral industrial collaboration and showcased ECUST’s growing role in strengthening Sino-Saudi educational and economic ties.

This event builds on ECUST’s established leadership in Middle East-focused education initiatives. The university currently hosts 51 Saudi students under the prestigious Mostaqbal Stars Program and remains the top Chinese institution for UAE government scholarship recipients, with 10 enrolled in 2024. These programs reflect ECUST’s important role in cultivating talent that bridges China and the Middle East.

Looking ahead, Suzhou Land Group pledged to involve ECUST students in its Industry-Academia Synergy and Saudi projects, including the upcoming China-Saudi Twin Centers in King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC). By aligning Saudi Vision 2030 with China’s Belt and Road Initiative, this strategic partnership aims to connect China’s expertise with Saudi Arabia’s development goals through joint research and student exchanges. For ECUST students, this collaboration offers valuable internships and strengthens their future employability.
